August trade data: India exports jump 26% to record monthly high; trade deficit narrows India’s merchandise exports jumped 26% year-on-year in August to their highest-ever level for the month, while the trade deficit narrowed marginally to $26.86 billion. Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal said export momentum remains strong.
